The beginning of her golfing career was a success. She was the first woman to qualify in 2007 to compete in the US Women's Open. She did not win the event, but she was able to win the Aldila Junior Classic in the following year, making her the second. She was the youngest American Junior Golf Association player (AJGA) in addition to being the youngest player to have won the Westfield Junior PGA Championship at that moment in time.
